The purpose of the GB Central Code of Conduct is to outline the expectations of responsibilities of all members of the GB Studio Central Staff and Contributors. The expectations outlined here relate to any activities in and outside of official GB Studio Central, including but not limited to communication on our staff Discord server, Social Media platforms and in-person events. Should a person violate this Code of Conduct, all efforts will be made to inform the offending parties of their violation and an opportunity provided for reconciliation. Repeated violations of the Code of Conduct could result in the offending person’s removal from GB Studio Central activities. Removal from GB Studio Central activities does not negate any pre-existing contracts with GB Studio Central.
On Inclusion
GB Studio Central aims to be an inclusive and welcoming environment. We do not discriminate against people according to their age, gender, sexuality, race, ability, ethnic background, geographical location, familial situation, social-economic status, religion or creed.
On Respect
The GB Studio Central Team is comprised of a diverse group of people. We all have different areas of focus, and this diversity is our strength. Members of our group are encouraged to engage in activities outside of GB Studio Central and members of our team should not be disparaged for engaging in these activities. If a person associates with a company or individual whose behaviour is in conflict with this Code of Conduct, they are not automatically in violation. Actions and behaviours are limited to our members and not their associations.
Respect is also to be extended to those outside of GB Studio Central. Companies, individuals and organizations outside our community may engage in activities that detract from your personal beliefs and values. Our members are expected to express their concerns over specific activities and behaviours in a professional and courteous manner. If one of our members or our organization engages in an activity that is concerning or contravenes the Code of Conduct, members are expected to privately communicate these concerns. Keep in mind that you may not know what associations one of our members may have with external groups.
On Kindness
In bolstering our expectations for inclusion and respect, kindness is key. Rude, disrespectful or otherwise mean comments and/or communication is not welcomed and will not be tolerated. As a general rule, if you are wondering if your statement could possibly upset someone, it’s better to not say it.
