We at GB Studio Central are super proud of the 6 issues of GB Studio Magazine we’ve produced. Over the last two years, we’ve expanded our physical publication to include new team members, magazine exclusives and amazing layouts that push our skills as authors and designers. When we first launched the magazine, we didn’t know what the turnout would be, and were blown away when 50 people subscribed for the first issue. Flash forward to now, and we have almost 300 subscribers.
When we first launched GB Studio Magazine, we opted to use the tools we had available and thought would work best, mainly Patreon as a method to collect subscribers and payment. While it was a great launching pad, over time changes to Patreon have made it more and more difficult for our use case, and we found the experience less than ideal for our subscribers as well.
We’ve now reached a point where we are confident in launching our own subscription service. As of last week, our Patreon tiers have been shut down and you can now visit magazine.gbstudiocentral.com to subscribe to our mag. Coupled with this change, we’ve partnered with a new single source print distribution solution, ensuring better quality and consistency for all our readers.
Best of all, our new platform allows us to offer a discount to our subscribers when they subscribe for one year. For $45, you get three magazines a year including shipping (which used to cost $60 per year, paid per issue). There are still options for per issue billing and Digital Delivery as well (physical subscriptions include digital copies too).
